Cherine sharing some Dancehall-Soul on John Mayer's "Battle Studies" Tour
CHERINE is spreading her wings and winning over new fans one show at time. Cherine, who was recently honored with the "Vocalist of the Year 2009" award at the 6th Annual EME Awards, is currently on a 47 date North American arena tour, joining Michael Franti and Spearhead to open for multi-platinum selling, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter John Mayer. Recently, the tour hit Canada with an energetic, sold out show at Toronto's Air Canada Center. Cherine, performing with Franti and Spearhead, are set to play to similar audiences in Ottawa and Montreal before heading back stateside. Mayer's "Battle Studies" tour started a little over a week ago in South Florida and will wrap up in Chicago in April.
Franti's Impact:
Cherine, whose talents were featured on several tracks on Franti and Spearhead's latest album All Rebel Rockers, including the Billboard Chart topping hit "Say Hey (I Love You)", continues to fly the Jamaican flag very high, sharing her brand of Dancehall Soul music with the world. This is Cherine's first arena tour, and from updates on her YouTube channel "CherineTV", it is clear that the songbird is having a great time. Regarding Cherine's rapidly progressing career, she spoke of her recently released video for her powerful song "Shine On Jamaica" and said, "Every night is a new opportunity to shine on this tour." She continued, "The fans that are coming out for the tour are so amazing. The arenas are mostly full by the time we hit the stage, and by the end of the set people are standing and dancing. Being a part of this amazing show with the high energy of the audience is truly rewarding. "

Mayer's Impact:
Cherine, who is a big fan of Mayer's music, says, "The first show of the tour I was like a kid in a candy store. I got to watch his show from the sound box (in the middle of the arena). Just being in the midst of the crowd and feeling the energy of the thousands of fans and singing along to all the songs was an incredible feeling. I am learning so much on this tour, and I'll take a lot of positive experiences forward with me. I enjoy meeting the many music fans throughout the tour and thank them for their support."
